Lillian - 1 Month

Catching up... I have a feeling I'll be running behind for the next 18 years.

Sweet Lillian-- we love you and can't imagine our family without you! At your 1 Month appointment (which was at 5 weeks... 2nd child problems I guess), you were 9lbs 13oz and 21.25 inches long.

2 Years!!

And just like that, he's 2! While I can't remember the specifics of what Thomas was up to when he turned two, I did manage to get his pictures... or at least I tried.

18 Months!

The problem with being so behind in my LoL posts is that I can't remember what exactly Thomas was up to at 18 Months! He was weighing in at 27lb 4oz, was 34 inches tall and his head was 19.25 inches.


I will always remember how Thomas is always on the "go, go, go" which were appropriately some of his first words. Blurry pictures are now more common that ones in focus!


Thomas continues to be such a sweet boy. He might not like to cuddle much to my dismay but he is thoughtful, helpful and kind which I guess is more important than snuggling. He'll even share his water with his elephant friend.


We were two months into speech therapy and Thomas had started talking but still preferred to sign "please" which he did enthusiastically when he really wanted something as if saying "pretty please!". Below he is doing his sign for "please" while asking for TomTom & Hercules.

1 Year!

I know everyone says it but, wow, I cannot believe it's been a year! In one way, it feels like Thomas has always been a part of our family and I cannot imagine life without him (what did I do with my time?!?!). But also, it feels like yesterday that he was just a little baby who liked to snuggle, laid calmly on his playmat and slept swaddled up like a little bug in a rug.


That little baby is now closer to a little boy. A little boy who will not sit still, who walks all day long, even in his crib when he's supposed to be napping! A little boy who knows what he likes (milk! broccoli! yogurt! Tom Tom! monkey!) and knows what he doesn't (snuggling, laying on his changing pad, being tired and not in his crib, the veggie burgers that he loved but once I bought the super pack at Costco he decided he hated).


A few milestones to mention-- walking, walking, walking. No words yet. Knows his name and what a few things are and will get them when you ask-- monkey, TomTom, milk, highchair, dog. Still not sure if he knows Mommy and Daddy yet! Has his bottom first molars and his top first molars are just about to come in (along with one of the other teeth to fill it).

Thomas, you bring so much joy to our lives and I can't wait to see what this next year has in store! Love you sweet boy.

11 Months!

And we have a walker!! Thomas took his first steps around 10 months, 1 week, but it wasn't until 11 months that he regularly was taking steps. Watching him walk is by far the most amazing milestone to date for me. It's just so sweet when he walks up to me when I get home from work!


Thomas, we love you more than we knew was possible! You're a determined little guy who wrinkles his brow when you're focusing (got that from your dad) and who fusses up a storm when you're hungry (that's from me). You absolutely adore looking out our front window and keeping watch over the neighborhood. Your favorite toys are not the ones that you've generously received as gifts but empty water bottles, granola bars and tupperware!



I'm totally ignoring the fact that our baby will be 1 year for the next monthly picture!

10 Months!

Guess what? Thomas turned 10 Months old two (almost 3) weeks ago! Thankfully I did take the pictures on time. I am just a wee bit late in posting.

It's becoming a theme, but the monthly picture sessions are more like this:

Thomas is on the go! go! go! At 10 months he was an expert cruiser and has advanced a little since then... but I'll save that for next month (uh, 2 weeks).

9 Months!

On Christmas Day, Thomas celebrated his 9 month birthday and celebrated with some of his favorite people!


My record keeping not as great as it once was... probably because I'm too busy trying to keep up with Thomas the Tornado. He's crawling everywhere, pulling up on anything and everything and starting to cruise around furniture. He has started "walking" with his walker although it's really a wobble.


Around 8 months, he had a little break from teething but now he's working on a few more. Can't quite tell which ones but the drool and chewing on everything has increased significantly.

T has quite the appetite but not so much for his bottle. He love feeding himself his puffs and yogurt drops. Pounds his fists for a food pouch once he sees one and chows down on our leftovers. He loved pork ragu & cheese grits and pot roast with veggies-- no wonder he doesn't want his bottle!


Thomas, you continue to be such a joyful and happy baby who's curious, pensive and a little fearless. We love you!
