Who's Lou?

When we found out that we were expecting a baby boy, Andy was finally open to discussing names.  Prior to that, I think his exact words were "why do double the work, when we will know soon if we're having a boy or girl?".  Touche.

We started chatting about names and I shared my list that I'd been adding to for a few months.  One of those names was Lou.  Just Lou.  Not short for anything.  Not a family name.  Just Lou.  I thought it was precious.  Andy was not going for it, but it quickly became Thomas' in utero name.  Once we decided on Thomas for his real name, we realized that we'd grown fond of "Lou" and decided it would be our first dog's name (or Lou Lou to be fair to a girl dog).

After much thought about how I wanted to share pictures of Thomas and our growing family, I decided that a simple blog platform was best.  I can write a blurb or two if I want to remember certain things or just post pictures.  And most importantly, I don't have to send out emails when I've updated because I'm pretty bad about that (I don't want to be "that mom" but I know a lot of people do want to see pictures!). And if you're wondering how in the world am I going to keep up with two blogs when I can't even keep up with one? Good question. But I decided not to combine the two because hopefully by keeping up with The Life of Lou, I'll have a good start for a baby book for Thomas and I don't think he wants interior design and outfit inspiration boards in his baby book!

So The Life of Lou was born.  I hope you enjoy a glimpse into our little life!
