This past month just flew by! Probably because I was officially out of the newborn fog and figuring out how to actually live life with a baby. It's quite the adjustment but oh so worth it. Thankfully it no longer takes an hour just to get out of the door. We even tackled three errands in one outing. After that, I felt like I had conquered Mt. Everest.
You have mastered tummy time but have decided rolling from your belly to back was so last month. You just don't seem that interested in it any more. Now when you're on your back, you always roll up to your left side and almost roll to your belly but so far think staying on your side is pretty cool.
You are now much more interested in your toys. You love your tree top friends that hang on your playmat and occasionally will love pat them (aka bat at them). Also, you love all of your black and white toys that your Bunny gave you, especially the black and white illustration of the little kid.
What's most exciting this month is how much you love to smile. When you see someone you recognize, you smile. You smile in response to our voices. Oh your smile. It melts my heart every time!
Baby Boy slow down! I love each day more than that last but you are just growing too fast!
Well, actually I do know what I've been up to... singing the song to Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, making animal noises and giving lots of kisses! Just a few of Thomas' favorite things at 2 Months. A couple of weeks ago, we realized that Thomas has a preference to look right. I think this is partly our fault because that's how we would always put him in his crib so that we could see his precious little face in the monitor-- oops! Nothing serious but something I'm now cognizant of. One of my tricks for getting him to look left is to put on Mickey Mouse Clubhouse (thanks Lissa for the suggestion!), lay him on his activity mat and then he turns his own head to the left to watch Mickey. Another one of his favorite activities is looking at his Wee Gallery Animal Art Cards (thanks Dee & Eleanor!). They're black and white animal drawings that just mesmerize Thomas. Or maybe he's mesmerized by me making the associated animal noises (btw, what noise does a giraffe make?).
At Thomas' 2 Month check-up he weighed 13lb 10oz (85th percentile), measured 23 7/8 inches (77th percentile) and his head is 16.25" (76th percentile). Is that why babies are so cute-- they're head circumference is 70% of their height?!
Since his 1 month check-up, he's gained about 2.5 pounds, grew half an inch and his head grew almost an inch!
Baby Boy is growing up too fast!
