If it wasn't for my iPhone, I wouldn't have any pictures of Thomas... surprises me since I love my DSLR. Maybe that's a goal for next week.

Baby Wearing

If it weren't for the baby carrier, I'd get nothing done... works for doing laundry, making coffee (a necessity these days), calming fussy pants during meltdown time, blogging and freeing up my hands for a glass of wine (but as evidenced by the photo, I haven't quite figured out how to blow dry my hair or put on make-up).

Cooking with a Newborn

Today is the first time that I've attempted to cook since having Thomas. We've been so blessed to have help from family and friends with lunches and dinners and grocery shopping that I haven't even thought about cooking. And honestly, I don't even remember the last time I cooked before Thomas' arrival! Karen spoiled us for a couple of months prior to Thomas' arrival by stocking our fridge and freezer on a weekly basis with homemade meals for the week... yes, totally spoiled! But today is my dad's birthday (Thomas says "HAPPY BIRTHDAY PAPA BEAR!") and I thought I'd try to make something for a celebratory dinner. Apparently this is the only way to cook when you have a newborn (at least in our household):


Don't worry, while he was strapped to me, I stayed away from anything hot and anything sharp!

Growing Up!

He's already growing up too much!

We set out today to run some errands and returned absolutely exhausted. Pretty pathetic considering my mom was with us so one of us always stayed in the car with the baby, and we only went to Home Depot and CVS! Thankfully I wasn't the only one worn out by the adventure, and Thomas slept for an hour in his car seat when we got home so I dozed off on the sofa.

A New Trick!

If Karen, my MIL, hadn't been here as the witness, no one would ever believe me that Thomas rolled over at 2 weeks! And he didn't do it just once, but four times! I put him down for tummy time (which he usually loves!) and went into the kitchen while Karen watched him. A few seconds later, she said "Cameron, he just rolled over!" And when I came back to the living room, there he was, hanging out on his back! So I flipped him over, and he rolled himself back. Repeat a third time and Karen asked if I had a video camera. I grabbed my iPhone (what did we do without them?) and tried to capture it again... he performed the trick once again and we caught it on camera.

Strollin'

Spring has sprung! We got out for our first walk yesterday... it's been on the to-do list for 3 days but we finally made it out today. It was just a short walk but we both enjoyed it and look forward to keeping it up! I'm totally rocking a hair 'do that looks straight from 1993, but hey, at least it's clean!
